When you need it on site
A dump truck, or tipper lorry, is hired by the hour where soil has to leave as fast as it is dug. Ours takes up to 20 tonnes at a time and works alongside the machine that loads it.
On a new house that usually happens three times: the pit for the foundations or a basement, the soil that has to go somewhere, and the plot cleared before building starts.
A foundation or basement pit
The excavator digs and drops the soil straight into the body instead of spreading it in heaps across the plot. When the body is full the truck leaves, and the pit stays clear for the formwork.
Soil moved somewhere else
Keep the good topsoil for the garden if you like: we tip it in a heap where you point or take it to another plot of yours. Where the rest goes is your choice.
The plot cleared before building
The backhoe loader levels the ground, pushes the soil into a heap and loads it into the body. The plot is left flat, ready for marking out the house.
Excavator and dump truck: who loads
A dump truck cannot load itself. So we send it with the machine that digs, each with its own person: the driver at the wheel, the operator in the cab.
- The excavator
- For big, deep pits: a basement, the foundations of a house, a pool. It digs and loads from one spot, bucket after bucket, until the body is full.
- The backhoe loader
- It has a bucket at the front and a digging arm at the back. The arm digs trenches for foundations or pipes; the front bucket gathers heaps and levels the ground.
- Your own machine
- If an excavator is already working on your site, we send just the dump truck, at the same price per hour.
We bring the machines to the site ourselves, with their operators. We give you their price once we know the job.
How the hour is counted
An hour of work is one load after another: the truck stands under the bucket, carries the soil away, tips it and comes back for the next.
Distance
The closer the spot where the soil goes, the more loads fit into an hour. It is quickest when the soil stays on the same plot.
Loading close by
When the excavator digs right beside the body, the truck hardly waits. That is why the two machines work best together.
The sum on the phone
Give us the pit's length, width and depth and where the soil should go. That gives the loads, and the loads and the drive give the hours.
An example
A basement pit 10 by 8 m and 2.5 m deep gives 200 m³ of soil. A cubic metre of soil weighs about 1.7 tonnes, so at 20 tonnes a load that is roughly 17 loads.
The price of an hour and a trip
On site the dump truck is paid by the hour. Only mixed rubbish has a fixed price per trip.

Dump truck hire: common questions
How much is dump truck hire per hour?
3500 lei an hour, driver included. How many hours you need depends on how much soil there is and how far it goes.
Do you come with an excavator?
Yes, with an excavator or a backhoe loader and its operator. Which one depends on the job: a pit, a trench or a plot to clear.
Where do you take the soil?
Where you tell us: another part of the plot if the truck can get there, a neighbour who needs fill, or another plot of yours.
Can you bring sand once the soil is out?
Yes. After the dig come sand and stone, and we sell them: sand and gravel mix, washed sand, crushed stone, gravel, quarry stone, crushed granite. The same truck brings them, and you hear the material's price when you call.
Can the truck drive onto a freshly dug plot?
Loaded, the truck is heavy, so it stands on firm ground or on the road, a few metres back from the pit. The excavator reaches the body with its arm.
Will you come out to a village near Chișinău?
Yes, we go out to the villages too: Pruncul, Dobrogea, Hulboaca, Floreni, Sireți and the rest of the list above. We also work further out, in any district; tell us where.
